Great little book store! Staff is knowledgable and charming and they carry a great selection. Great staff, very experienced and knowledgable, cute local neighborhood book store, almost every book your looking for. They are a community minded bookstore with a strong sense of social justice. They even had books from web comic authors like Kate Beaton and Zach Weinersmith! Beatrice was super-nice and helpful!įolios staff provides personal and caring service to readers of all ages. It doesn’t get more local than Green Apple, this bookshop has been around since 1967.

Well, besides a good stock of books purveyed by friendly and knowledgeable staff with an owner whos a gifted bookseller and delightful woman who manages to find abstruse volumes for me. The poets, Doreen Stock and Claudia Chapline, read their work and talked about their incredible lives last night and while they are not without recognition in their own lives, Noe Valley was blessed with their presence and their thought provoking work. I ALWAYS leave with a book for my classroom :) Folio has a great selection of books for children, and they always have books related to current upcoming holidays or events. Generally, he leaves with a book, no matter the bookstore. Spend an extra dollar to have a human experience in local Noe Valley retail gem.Įvery time were in the neighborhood waiting for brunch we come here. Store is clean, family-friendly and has so much more humanity and warmth than buying books from the robots that run Amazon. They do lovely seasonal merchandizing and also incredible gift-wrapping. Theyre kind enough to let him go back behind the counter to special order books with the friendly staff. Its my 8 year old sons home away from home.
